150th Anniversary - Virtual Balloon Race

Balloon Race Header

All Saints’ Church is celebrating it’s 150th Anniversary this year and one of the ways we are marking this is by holding a Virtual Balloon Race.  A virtual race works in the same way as a helium balloon race, but the balloons fly around their own virtual island rather than in the atmosphere.  We held a very successful, and competitive, race 2 years ago and thought we would have a re-run!

The balloons will be ‘released’ on Sunday 26th June at 12.00 noon to fly around the virtual island.  Every hour each balloon randomly travels between 1km and 20km.  At the end of the race on Sunday 3rd July at 12.00 noon, the owner of the balloon which has travelled the farthest will win a £50.00 Amazon voucher, with a 2nd prize of a £20.00 voucher and 3rd prize of a £10.00 voucher.  Winners will be notified and names put on our website.

Each balloon will cost £5.00 and as the race is starting on the day of our 150th Anniversary celebration service we would love to sell at least 150 balloons.  When you purchase your balloon, you can choose your own colour and add your own message to put on the tag.  Why not buy one each for your children or grandchildren? Or be part of the race yourself; maybe have a mini race within your family? This was very popular last time, with family members around the world competing against each other.

You can purchase balloons online and once the race has started you can track your balloons using our own race page which is below:-

www.balloonrace.com/Allsaints

For those who don’t have internet access and would like to purchase a balloon please contact the Parish Office on 01923 772109. You will be asked to provide your name, contact number, choice of colour and the nickname you would like to use for the balloon, and if you wish an optional message.  Alternatively, you can pick up a form to complete with your details. We will then put your balloon details into the website for you.

The balloon colours, shapes and designs available to choose from are:-
Poppy Red, Purple, Pale Pink, Jet Black, Lavender, Snowdrop White, Gold, Ivory, Pearl, Orange Pearl, Amber, Canary Yellow, Lime Green, Emerald Green, Racing Green, Turquoise, Sky Blue, Sapphire Blue, Velvet Blue, Fuchsia.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

Whether you've just moved to the area, have lived here all your life or are just visiting, we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about All Saints’Church, Croxley Green.  We would love to see you!

What facilities are available at the church to enable access for all?
♦ We have temporary ramps available on request for step free access; however, we are looking to
improve access for those with mobility challenges.
♦ There is a loop system for those using a hearing aid.
♦ Our church hall opposite has toilets; one of which is a disabled toilet with changing facilities for
   babies.
♦ There is street parking available around the church.
♦ Large print copies of the service booklet and hymn books are available.
♦ Our Sunday service is also shown on a large screen.
♦ Some services are available on our facebook page.

What should I wear?
Come as you are, wear whatever you feel comfortable wearing; whether it’s jeans or your Sunday best.

What will happen when you arrive?
You will be welcomed and given everything you need for the service. We always aim to start on time but don’t worry if you arrive late.

What will happen during the service?
Some services are more formal than others (see below), but generally they will include hymns and/or worship songs, prayers, Bible readings and a talk. During a service of Holy Communion you will be invited to go forward for Communion or a personal blessing should you wish.

What about children?
Although we do not have a Sunday school, we feel children enhance our intergenerational worship through their openness and engagement with God; therefore they are welcome at all our services. There is also a selection of toys and activities available for them.

What about money?
The church is completely reliant on donations to cover its running costs and so a collection is taken during our services, where cash or card donations can be made if you wish.

What happens after the service?
There are refreshments available after our Sunday main service. We would love you to join us so we can get to know each other better.
