Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

Whether you've just moved to the area, have lived here all your life or are just visiting, we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about All Saints’Church, Croxley Green.  We would love to see you!

What facilities are available at the church to enable access for all?
♦ We have temporary ramps available on request for step free access; however, we are looking to
improve access for those with mobility challenges.
♦ There is a loop system for those using a hearing aid.
♦ Our church hall opposite has toilets; one of which is a disabled toilet with changing facilities for
♦ There is street parking available around the church.
♦ Large print copies of the service booklet and hymn books are available.
♦ Our Sunday service is also shown on a large screen.
♦ Some services are available on our facebook page.

What should I wear?
Come as you are, wear whatever you feel comfortable wearing; whether it’s jeans or your Sunday best.

What will happen when you arrive?
You will be welcomed and given everything you need for the service. We always aim to start on time but don’t worry if you arrive late.

What will happen during the service?
Some services are more formal than others (see below), but generally they will include hymns and/or worship songs, prayers, Bible readings and a talk. During a service of Holy Communion you will be invited to go forward for Communion or a personal blessing should you wish.
What about children?
Although we do not have a Sunday school, we feel children enhance our intergenerational worship through their openness and engagement with God; therefore they are welcome at all our services. There is also a selection of toys and activities available for them.

What about money?
The church is completely reliant on donations to cover its running costs and so a collection is taken during our services, where cash or card donations can be made if you wish.
What happens after the service?
There are refreshments available after our Sunday main service. We would love you to join us so we can get to know each other better.

Sunday Worship

Sunday's - something for everyone

Due to the Covid-19 virus some of the services below are currently cancelled. Please check the Church Calendar for up to date information on our services.

8.00am    Holy Communion Book of Common Prayer.
(alternate weeks see Diary for 8.00am Holy Communion dates)
A simple and reflective Communion service using traditional language from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. It is a said service so there are no hymns. The service lasts about 35 minutes.

9.45am    Parish Communion
A formal service of Communion using the Common Worship Service Book. There is a robed choir and both traditional and contemporary hymns are sung. The service lasts about 1 hour and 10 minutes followed by tea and coffee in the hall.

10.45am    #First Sunday Service (First Sunday of the Month)
On the First Sunday of the month the communion service is slightly shorter in duration (1 hour or less) and has a more informal feel to it. It is especially appropriate for people exploring their faith and families.  Tea and freshly brewed coffee are available in the hall afterwards.

11.30am    Family Service (Third Sunday of the Month)
This very informal service is particularly geared towards children and their families with songs, bible story prayer and a Family Activity Creative time.  The service lasts for about 30-40 minutes. Tea, freshly brewed coffee, squash, etc. are available at the back of church at the end of the service.

2.00pm    Forest Church (Second Sunday of the Month)
Forest Church is a fresh expression of church which recognises and celebrates the presence of God in nature. This provides for a new way of exploring creation and engaging with God in local woods. Forest Church is open to people of all ages. Meet outside the Church and then go to the woods. We will finish up in the church garden to reflect and have refreshments. Forest Church lasts for 2 hours.

6.00pm    Evening Worship
(alternate weeks see Diary for 6.00pm Evening Worship dates)
Normally Evening Worship takes the form of Evensong alternating between the Book of Common Prayer and Common Worship. Sometimes there may be an informal service such as Songs of Praise, Taize, or other reflective styles of worship.

7.05am    Morning Prayer (Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays)
A simple, informal and reflective service at the start of the day based on the Common Worship order of service.  The service lasts about 20 minutes.

9.30am    Holy Communion (Thursdays)
A said service of Holy Communion lasting for 30 minutes, followed by refreshments.

The church is open daily 10am-2pm for private prayer and reflection.
