Annual Parochial Church Meeting

The Annual Meeting of Parishioners and the Annual Parochial Church Meeting take place each year by 31st May.

The Annual Meeting of Parishioners is held to elect two Churchwardens, who assist the Vicar to run the Parish and have particular responsibilities for parish buildings and physical property.

This meeting can be attended by all parishioners and all are invited to attend. The serving Churchwardens are eligible for re-election but, like all other candidates, must be nominated and seconded.

Candidates and nominators must be on the Parish Electoral Roll.

The Annual Parochial Church Meeting is open to those whose names are on the Parish Electoral Roll. Under the Church of England’s Representation Rules it must conduct the following business:

(a) To appoint lay members to the Parochial Church Council (PCC). Members normally serve for three years. The members completing their term of service are able to stand for re-election.

(b) To appoint lay members to the Deanery Synod. (If there are vacant posts to be filled).

(c) To appoint an Independent Examiner of the PCC accounts.

(d) To receive a report on changes to the Electoral Roll.

(e) To consider the Annual Report on the PCC proceedings and Parish activities, which will include reports on the fabric, goods and ornaments of the Church and on the proceedings of the Deanery Synod.

(f) To consider the Financial Statements of the PCC for the previous year ending on 31st December which have been audited or independently examined.

(g) Any other matters of parochial and general Church interest. Any member present can raise any matter of concern to them under this heading.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

Whether you've just moved to the area, have lived here all your life or are just visiting, we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about All Saints’ Church, Croxley Green.  We would love to see you!

What facilities are available at the church to enable access for all?
♦ We have temporary ramps available on request for step free access. There is a fixed ramp
within the church to improve access for those with mobility challenges.
♦ There is a loop system for those using a hearing aid.
♦ Our church hall opposite has toilets; one of which is a disabled toilet with changing facilities for
   babies.
♦ There is street parking available around the church.
♦ Large print copies of the service booklet and hymn books are available.
♦ Our Sunday service is also shown on a large screen.
♦ Some services are available on our facebook page.

What should I wear?
Come as you are, wear whatever you feel comfortable wearing; whether it’s jeans or your Sunday best.

What will happen when you arrive?
You will be welcomed and given everything you need for the service. We always aim to start on time but don’t worry if you arrive late.

What will happen during the service?
Some services are more formal than others (see below), but generally they will include hymns and/or worship songs, prayers, Bible readings and a talk. During a service of Holy Communion you will be invited to go forward for Communion or a personal blessing should you wish.

What about children?
Although we do not have a Sunday school, we feel children enhance our intergenerational worship through their openness and engagement with God; therefore they are welcome at all our services. There is also a selection of toys and activities available for them.

What about money?
The church is completely reliant on donations to cover its running costs and so a collection is taken during our services, where cash or card donations can be made if you wish.

What happens after the service?
There are refreshments available after our Sunday main service. We would love you to join us so we can get to know each other better.
